Intel 6th Generation, 7th Generation 1 Core 2 Thread Technology Hyperthreading Fatal Error? What is the solution?

by CHCH ITG 2017. 7. 2.

Hello all, IT, Technology, K.Min's to share daily information.

What I will be introducing today is to share information on fatal errors in Intel products.

This is Intel's Hyper-Threading Technology, which is a 1-core 2-threaded technology.

At the moment, this technology has caused a fatal error and Intel has sent

a message to disable Hyper-Threading Technology.

But there is a solution. I will introduce you to this part today.

Debian Linux developer Henrique de Moraes Holschuh discovered this problem.

The problem is that the 6th generation SkyLake and the 7th generation

KABI RAKE processor are all part of this glitch,

and some problems have been found in some server processors, such as Xeon V5 and Xeon V6,

and Pentium processors, an entry-level model.

The Debian development team explained that the problem is not related to the operating system,

and potentially includes all possible problems, including

Linux and other operating system Windows and Mac OS ...

According to Holschuh, but intel aware of the problem but do not recognize it. (WTF? ..)

Intel engineers are currently discussing how to fix the problem, but they are not getting the right solution.

This issue is a serious problem, and despite the fact that it is a problem to respond quickly,

it is not able to provide proper response and solution, and it is expected to seriously damage Intel image.

Especially, the biggest problem is that it is the biggest hurdle for the

i7 series for general users and CPU for server of Intel Xeon.

My CPU is also Skylake, which is a 6th generation i7-6700.

My product, the i7, is still in a state where there are no fatal defects or errors.

Until a separate microcode patch for the problem was made,

he asked me to disable this hyperthreading technology.

This is a huge loss for those who purchased the i7 and Xeon series.

Fortunately, there is a solution now. If you patch the BIOS patch to the latest version since April,

it will be solved to some extent. Fortunately, I did not have any

big problem because I made sure to check whether

the latest version is coming out every month or not and patch it immediately.

It is still a state that has enabled Hyper-Threading continuously.

However, the error occurred at the time of the 7th generation

Kavi Lake included 6th generation SKY RAKE product,

including a defect that seems to have been a constant error from the past.

Once you update the BIOS to the latest version,

it seems to be a problem to be solved.

Today, I learned about Intel hyper-threading errors.

I think it's correct to announce the official position at Intel first.

Although it is a defense to a certain degree with a general CPU,

BIOS of a server may be a really big hit, and I think that Intel should

prepare a countermeasure as soon as possible.

I do not even imagine how big a blow this would be in terms of image coping with this response.

K. Min's Intel Hyper-Threading Error news was over.
